COSTA RAGUSA

Sicily Secreta: a Sicilian elsewhere, between Baroque, energy and identity

destination

Some places are not found. They are recognized.

Costa Ragusa is that kind of place.
A stretch of Sicily where the landscape does not perform — it simply exists.
Where the wind shapes the dunes, the sea holds the horizon, and the light moves at its own pace.
Here, nature is not scenery. It is presence.
History is not memory. It is atmosphere.
Myth is not the past. It is the air you breathe.
This is not the Sicily of postcards or itineraries.
Hidden in plain sight, alive beneath the surface, revealed only to those who choose to enter.
This is the Sicily that waits. This is Sicily Secreta.

A mythological geography

Costa Ragusa is a place where history becomes nature.
The dunes shaped by the scirocco, the submerged ruins of ancient Kamarina, the Mediterranean scrub opening onto the water: every element carries a memory that reaches deep into the roots of Mediterranean civilisation.
A land of contrasts that coexist in balance. Harsh and gentle. Wild and silent. Ancient and eternally present.
Between the limestone of the Iblean hills and the deep blue of the Mediterranean, a vision of discreet hospitality comes to life — respectful of the place, integrated into the landscape, faithful to the character of this Sicily.

Staying in Costa Ragusa

Costa Ragusa is forged by two souls — complementary, distinct, rooted in the same territory. The Borgo and the Resort are not simply two structures that share the same landscape. They are two different ways of inhabiting it, of feeling it, of letting it pass through you.
The Borgo is life as it happens. Movement, conviviality, the natural rhythm of those who choose to enter the territory from within.
The Resort is silence that envelops. Intimacy, depth, the most suspended and visionary dimension of this Sicily.
Two different spirits. One single imaginary. That of Sicily Secreta.

Roots of stone

Founded by the Syracusans in 598 BC, Kamarina was one of the most important Greek cities in southern Sicily.
Today its archaeological park preserves what time has left behind: mosaics, necropolises, fragments of walls and an Archaeological Museum that gathers the finds returned by the sea and the earth.

A place where the past is not displayed, but felt. Where walking among the ruins means crossing layers of Mediterranean history — Greek, Carthaginian, Roman — that overlap in silence.

Where the land breathes.

Close to one another, the Kamarina and Punta Braccetto nature reserves form a continuous natural system — a living landscape that stretches between dunes, Mediterranean scrub and open coastline.

Here, nature is not preserved like a museum. It moves, changes, grows. The wind redraws the profiles of the dunes every day. The vegetation advances slowly and relentlessly.
Migratory birds rest in silence before returning to the open sea.
A territory that exists according to its own rules and its own rhythms — indifferent to human time, generous to those who know how to observe.

This is the nature that surrounds Costa Ragusa. Not a backdrop. A presence.

A Sicilian elsewhere, between Baroque, energy and identity

Costa Ragusa Borgo and Resort is not an interpretation of Sicily. It is a specific expression of it. Where Baroque heritage does not decorate — it defines. Where light, materials and landscape are not a backdrop, but a language.

Where hospitality is not a service — it is a posture.

Discreet, warm, deeply rooted in the character of this land. An encounter between history and the contemporary that does not seek compromise. It simply exists, as this territory has always existed — with quiet intensity.
